An Israeli law firm, Shurat Hadin, dedicated to bankrupting terrorist organizations and the states that sponsor them, threatens to sue Facebook.
Shurat Hadin alleges that Facebook is in fact aiding and abetting international terrorism by allowing Iran to use Facebook services as the regime continues to support the efforts of terrorist groups such as Hizballah and Hamas. It is well known that members of these groups have been responsible for the murder of Americans, Israelis, and those from other Western nations.
The law firm just recently sent a letter to Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, requesting the immediate removal of 15 Iranian government ministers from their social media site. Iranian officials are now able to use the site in support of their propaganda efforts against the West.
According to the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) it is illegal “to export or supply goods, technology or services” to Iran or its government. Such activities are in direct violation of U.S. sanctions against the Iranian regime. And while Facebook remains a California-based company with its headquarters in Menlo Park, California, it remains subject to United States law.
Strategic Solutions stands in solidarity with Shurat Hadin and applauds its warning to Facebook concerning the possibility of civil and criminal liability for Iranian actions in support of their agents of terror.
To quote the law firm’s own mission statement: “Shurat HaDin seeks to bankrupt the terror groups and grind their criminal activities to a halt – one lawsuit at a time.”
