When President Obama rejected the Keystone XL Pipeline project, he rejected America’s immediate need for energy independence. Independence from state sponsors of terrorism, energy independence from nations and people that incite, glorify, and fund acts of murder and treachery against the United States and our allies!
Instead, the President chose to continue to enrich the enemies of America:
– Enemies like Saudi Arabia who support the slavery of women, genital mutilation, and honor killings, a country that uses their oil as a weapon against the economic stability of America and our Western allies;
– Enemies like Venezuela, who cozy-up to Iran, support Iran’s nuclear weapons program, and terrorism against the West; and,
– Enemies like Russia and China, who also support Iran and its nuclear program, and remain heavily invested in Iran’s nuclear facilities. Russia has even gone so far as to openly declare that they will not tolerate an attack by the United States or our strategic ally, Israel, against Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
Ultimately, this President has demonstrated he would rather buy oil from countries that cry “DEATH TO AMERICA” and “DEATH TO ISRAEL” rather than partner with Canada, a friendly nation who for years has been a steady trading partner of the United States.
By building the Keystone XL Pipeline, the United States can produce more than 80 percent of the oil Americans consume rather than importing from Middle Eastern countries. Considering the upheaval, sectarian strife, and the rise of hostile, Islamic leaders openly antagonistic to Western nations, oil imports from the Middle East may not be entirely reliable in the foreseeable future.
Furthermore, the President continues to obstruct America’s own oil industry from expanding its oil and gas resources – a fundamental national security issue.
To survive countries need oil to win wars and maintain a strong military. Developing America’s oil interests is a powerful part of America’s national security interests. Tragically, the President knows this and he still rejected the pipeline project.
Moreover, by rejecting the pipeline project, the President denied jobs to tens of thousands of Americans. As a result, he denied a boost to America’s economy and a possible shot at recovery for the housing market and lower gasoline prices at the pump.
