Selling Terrorist Propaganda in an American Market

Amazon.com is selling recruitment propaganda written by a terrorist, the late Anwar Al-Awlaki, an Al-Qaeda leader and an inspiration to Islamic terrorists worldwide.

Al-Awlaki, cited as an instigator of terrorist attacks against Americans, was a propagandist emboldening Muslims to perpetrate lone wolf attacks such as the November 2009 Fort Hood shooting, the attempted Christmas Day airplane bombing over Detroit, Michigan in 2010 and the attempted Times Square bombing also in 2010.

Anwar Al-Awlaki’ writings and speeches were dedicated to recruitment efforts, encouraging Muslims to participate in terrorist attacks against his country of birth, the United States.

In one article entitled: “44 Ways of Supporting Jihad,” his opening line reads: “Jihad is the greatest deed in Islam and the salvation of the ummah is in practicing it.” [See http://www.memri.org/report/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/3683.htm

MEMRI downloaded Al-Awlaki’s materials from his own website at anwar-alawlaki.com or (http://www.anwar-alawlaki.com/?p=69). For more on Imam Al-Awlaki, visithttp://www.memri.org/report/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/3720.htm.]

Other Al-Awlaki products for sale on Amazon.com include a CD-Rom of his collected writings entitled: “Allah is Preparing Us for Victory: Collection of Writings by Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki.” These essays speak to the issue of Islamic imperialism and the conquest of all non-Muslim people and nations.

Promoting articles and speeches by propagandists of Islamic terrorism is not in the best interests of the American people nor in the national security interests of U.S. allies.

If you would like to protest the sale of resources and material concerning recruitment propaganda published by the late Anwar Al-Awlaki and other terrorists, please contact Amazon.com at Amazon’s corporate contact phone number in Seattle, Washington. That number is (206) 266-1000.
