President Trump Reestablishes U.S. Credibility in War on Islamic Terrorism

President Trump has now sent another message to the enemies of the United States. He has dropped the “Mother of all bombs” in Afghanistan following an airstrike on a Syrian military airbase that was used by the Assad regime to drop chemical weapons on Assad’s opposition forces and civilians just last week.

By dropping America’s largest, non-nuclear bomb in eastern Afghanistan days after a Green Beret, De Alencar, assigned to 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), was killed there fighting ISIS, this Special Forces soldier’s death has been avenged.

The Pentagon says this is the United States first-ever combat use of MOAB – Massive Ordinance Air Blast which is said to have a mile wide blast radius and contains 11 tons of explosives or TNT. The Air Force calls it the Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb. Based on the acronym, it has been nicknamed the “Mother Of All Bombs.”

Using MOAB removes space for America’s enemies to operate by taking out tunnels, caves and bunkers used by ISIS to target Afghan and U.S. Forces who have been conducting clearing operations in the area against ISIS fighters and facilities. {…/pentagon-us-dropped-larg…/…}

Seemingly promoting a foreign policy approach of “peace through strength,” the President is making clear that he is reestablishing United States credibility in the war against Islamic terrorism. Furthermore, through the use of hard power, the President better facilitates his work of soft power diplomacy through negotiations.

This action will reassure America’s allies that the U.S. is in-it-to-win-it and sends a powerful message to the enemies of the U.S. that America is NO LONGER a nation to be trifled with, but takes serious its national security interests.
