In early 1933, a menorah sat in the window, a window facing the town hall in a German town called Kiel. The town hall was decorated with a Nazi flag. [See this famous photo image at FACEBOOK.com/StrategicSolutionsForANewMiddleEast, posted on Monday, 12.10.21.]

Hitler had just taken hold of power on January 30th of that year. As he strode into the presidential office of Paul von Hindenburg to become Germany’s next chancellor, the most vicious, brutal reign of terror the modern world had ever witnessed, was launched.

That one act of bravery, placing a menorah in the window of a German Nazi community, represents the courage and bravery of the Jewish people. Jewish civilization would survive the horrors of the Nazis, horrors symbolized in a Nazi flag that represents evil incarnate.

Hanukkah is a time when Jewish people everywhere commemorate the victory of Light over Darkness and is rightly celebrated in Kislev, the Hebrew month of miracles.

Jewish Israel needs another miracle. Besieged on all sides by Islamists in every camp, in Egypt and Jordan by the Muslim Brotherhood, in Lebanon and Syria by Hizballah, Al-Qaeda, Jabhat Al-Nusra, and other jihadist groups, and in Palestinian Authority occupied areas terrorists include the Palestinian police as well as the PLO, Al-Qaeda, and others, we support yet another victory for the people of Israel, a people who have survived centuries of persecution and threats of annihilation.

One of the ancient prayers recited by the Jewish people during the Hanukkah season goes as follows: “Blessed are You, O God our Lord, King of the universe, who has kept us alive, and has preserved us, and who has brought us to this season.”

Let us pray for Israel’s continued preservation as well as victory over her 21st century enemies, the enemies of peace.

Strategic Solutions celebrates the Jewish spirit and wishes the Jewish people everywhere a happy, joyous time of continued miracles and blessings this Hanukkah season.
