Kassam rocket at Ashkelon

Muslim Arabs living in Gaza launched a Kassam rocket at Ashkelon in early April. An ancient city, Ashkelon dates back to the days of Samson and Delilah. It is recorded in Judges 14:19 that here Samsun triumphs over Israel’s enemies and a place where mice and tumors are later visited upon those who have stolen Israel’s Ark of the Covenant as spoken of in I Samuel 5 and 6.

Inhabited by the Hebrews or Jews for centuries, Ashkelon was finally and successfully rebuilt by the newly restored nation of Israel in 1948.
