The Obama White House proposed a reduction in funding for counter-terrorism programs across the country by nearly $300 million this week!
This represents cuts to the Urban Area Security Initiative,UASI, which funds programs in cities across the U.S. to prevent bloody, terrorist attacks or to at least respond and adequately recover from these attacks. Through the Initiative’s counter-terrorism programs, active shooter training courses are provided as well as support for teams that patrol local airports, transit areas, waterways and the costs of training exercises such as multi-jurisdictional response drills, based on reports by the Associated Press.
The proposed budget would cut the funding from $600 million to $330 million.
These proposed cuts are ill-advised and ill-timed!
The President’s proposal must not be tolerated and should be reversed, particularly in light of the recent San Bernardino attack and other attacks across the country that continue to go unreported or under-reported.
It does not make sense to propose cuts to vital terror-prevention programs like UASI at a time when tens of thousands of Muslim refugees and Islamic immigrants are allowed to enter the United States as threats to launch more attacks and carry out jihad inside America’s borders continues.
Proponents of the program, myself included, believe it is necessary to adequately fund counter-terrorism programs in high-density urban areas like New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and other cities across the country.
Only The Denice Gary Pandol Show has reported on several threats as well as attacks that have occurred throughout the year that have otherwise gone virtually unreported in major media outlets. Indeed, the UASI is needed. Hear Tuesday’s broadcast, 02.16.2016, as a prime example.
