Hear my attempts to discuss anti-Semitism with an Arab Christian pastor from Israel. Like most other Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant leaders, he appears unwilling to address this growing and ugly phenomenon that remains a part of the modern church era. The pastor is Steven Khoury. He is Co-Founder of Holy Land Missions in East Jerusalem and came to my city where I listened to him speak at a local church.
To many Arab Christians, to embrace Jews, and by extension, Israel, is to create division within the Arab nation, a people rooted in an Islamic tradition of racism against Jews, and to hinder its decades long struggle against Israel through wars, terrorism and boycotts. All this despite the fact that Zionism, Jewish sovereignty in Israel, affords equality, tolerance, and opportunity for all its citizens.
Hear Pastor Khoury’s responses to my questions concerning his role as a pastor in dealing with anti-Semitism found among so many Arab Christian believers today. See his interview on a Fox News online broadcast at http://www.bethlehemfreedom.com/news/article/pastor-steven-khoury-on-fox-news and consider my additional questions related to this interview and Khoury’s corresponding statements.
Note that there have even been Christian Arabs who have called for suicide bombings and/or supported terrorist attacks against Israel’s civilian population and have served in “various factions of the Palestinian resistance.” [See http://www.memri.org/report/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/706.htm.] These same individuals may ultimately find themselves in a very different position, where they seek the Jewish State’s protection rather than its destruction.
The Islamic State or ISIS is gaining power. It has reportedly issued leaflets, posting them all over Jerusalem, calling for the death of Jerusalem Christians. [See: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/197307#.VZdYlhtViko .] ISIS has also fired rockets into Israel from Gaza this spring and new pockets of ISIS cells are establishing themselves in Judea and Samaria also known as the West Bank.
Also, learn how President Obama has further jeopardized the safety and security of American lives by sending U.S. personnel to share a military base with Iranian-backed Shiite militias. Consider that the Taqqadum military base in Anbar province is the same base where American soldiers were targeted and killed in the past.
Would you support the contention that this new U.S. – Iran alliance constitutes a credible threat to the U.S. and to the Arab nations in the region?
And finally, learn what the United States and other nations may provide Iran as nuclear negotiations remain on-going. What you will learn will be shocking!
