What is a Fair and Just Solution to the Palestinian Problem?

Set to punish Israel, President Obama has signaled that he is prepared to allow anti-Israel resolutions by the United Nations Security Council to go forward and force the Jewish state into surrendering still more land.

Why? In the final moments before Israeli elections on March 17th, Netanyahu gave voice to what every Israeli knows: “Anyone who is going to evacuate territories today, is simply giving a base for attacks to radical Islam against Israel.” Indeed, Arab Palestinians like most of the Muslim Arab world have never so much as recognized Israel’s right to exist. The consequence of ceding land to Arab Palestinians is already apparent as evidenced by Gaza and territory in the West Bank, (Judea and Samaria). State sponsors of terror, countries like Iran and Qatar along with U.S. and European partners provide foreign aid and help re-supply Palestinians with the resources to launch missile attacks and on a near daily basis terrorize the innocent.

To establish another Muslim Arab or Palestinian state is to provide the enemies of Israel and the U.S. another base of operations. And from this base, Muslim Palestinians will do what they have always done, train and launch attacks on Israelis, Americans and American interests around the globe.

A just solution to the Palestinian issue defies today’s conventional wisdom. Consider that following the end of World War II, there were forty million refugees in various parts of the world – all were resettled. This includes nearly one million Jews forced to flee Arab countries and approximately 450,000 souls who made it out of Europe’s Jewish holocaust. Again, all were resettled decades ago.

In every case but that of the Arabs, of which there were perhaps 400,000, less than 2% of the whole refugee population, all were refused re-settlement in Arab host countries of like language, religion, and culture. Why? The official attitude of Arab Muslim nations, which sided with Nazi Germany during the war years, was to use the Arab refugee problem to justify jihad against the Jews and thereby destroy Jewish Israel.

Why must different rules, lavish aid and special treatment apply only to Arab refugees who fought hard to destroy the non-Muslim state in the region and lost a war in 1948 trying?

The only fair and honorable solution is that Arab Palestinians return to the Muslim Arab world.
